If you find a lost dog or cat anywhere in the Louisville or Kentuckiana area, you have somewhere to go — any time of day or night.
How to use it
The process takes about five minutes:
- Bring the found pet to our location at 8379 State Road 64, Georgetown, IN 47122.
- Use the self-serve scanner at the station located at the front of the building — no staff assistance required.
- If the pet has a chip, visit aaha.org to use the AAHA Universal Pet Microchip Lookup, a free national registry that searches multiple databases at once.
- Contact the owner and get the pet home.
Why this matters
Most vets are closed at night. Shelters have limited hours. Animal control handles strays but is not always the fastest path to reuniting a family with their pet. And most people who find a lost animal have no idea what to do with it at midnight.
