Lost pets do not wait for business hours. Neither does our Lost Pet Station.
Mike's Car Store at 8379 State Road 64 in Georgetown, Indiana now has a free, self-serve microchip scanner available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. No appointment. No staff needed. No cost. If you find a lost dog or cat anywhere in the Louisville or Kentuckiana area, you have somewhere to go — any time of day or night.
The process takes about five minutes:
Most vets are closed at night. Shelters have limited hours. Animal control handles strays but is not always the fastest path to reuniting a family with their pet. And most people who find a lost animal have no idea what to do with it at midnight.
Millions of pets are microchipped every year. The chip is useless if there is no scanner nearby when it counts. We put one here, at a location that never closes, so that gap does not exist in Floyd County and Clark County anymore.
Anyone. You do not have to be a customer. You do not have to buy a car. If you find a lost pet in Georgetown, New Albany, Clarksville, Jeffersonville, Louisville, or anywhere nearby, drive to our lot, use the scanner, and go find the owner.

Most people will not need this — until they do. Send this to a neighbor, post it in your local Facebook group, or tag someone who has pets. The more people who know this is here, the more animals get home safely.
